Cultural attractions include the University Museum where you can learn about the first settlers of Baja California, other great attractions include El Museo Sol del Niño (the Children’s Museum) and the Imax Movie Theatre. Mexicali also has its own zoo.
Other cultural attractions include La Casa de La Cultura, Bellas Artes Institute, plus the State Art Center with exhibitions, and concerts. The State Theatre presents the best acts in the country. Plaza de Toros Calafia offers bullfights in May and June.
For the outdoor adventurer, Laguna Salada, is a few kilometers from the city, this dried lake is a gateway to the Guadalupe Wine Valley also near La Rumorosa rock formations where you can find tourist camps, thermal waters and waterfalls.
