Tecate also offers excellent spas recognized worldwide recognition and excellent medical services. Tecate is camping favorite, with approximately 45 ranches and water parks, plus giant granite rock formations.

The city, one of five in Baja California, is the namesake and home of the first brewery for Mexico’s well known Tecate Beer. Guided tours are offered.

Tecate is the Northern entrance to the Baja California Wine Route. The valleys of Tanama and Las Palmas are home of a dozen wineries complemented by restaurants and small shops that offer tastings accompanied by exquisite regional delicacies.

In Tecate, visitors can learn about the history of the first settlers at the Community Museum, explore the archeological area known as El Vallecito (small valley) and view cave paintings that light up during the winter solstice.
